Chai Latte Milkshake

A creamy, cozy milkshake that blends the spicy warmth of chai with the indulgence of vanilla ice cream. Perfect for chilly nights, lazy weekends, or as a fun dessert to share.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk or milk of choice (almond, oat, soy, etc.)
  • 1/2 cup strong brewed chai tea (2 chai tea bags or 2 tbsp loose-leaf chai in 1/2 cup boiling water)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 pinch ground cloves
  • 1 dash ground black pepper
  • 12 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • Ice cubes (optional, for extra thickness)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • Cinnamon or nutmeg (for garnish, optional)
  • Cinnamon stick (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Brew a strong cup of chai by steeping 2 chai tea bags or 2 tablespoons loose-leaf chai in 1/2 cup boiling water for 5-7 minutes. Remove tea bags or strain leaves. Chill the chai in the fridge or freezer until cold.
  2. While the chai cools, measure out 2 cups vanilla ice cream, 1/2 cup milk, and your spices (1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon ginger, 1/4 teaspoon cardamom, 1 pinch cloves, dash of black pepper). Add 1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup.
  3. In a blender, combine the ice cream, milk, brewed chai, spices, sweetener, and a pinch of salt. Add a few ice cubes if you want it extra thick.
  4. Blend until smooth and creamy, about 30 seconds. Adjust thickness by adding more milk (for thinner) or more ice cream/ice cubes (for thicker).
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice as desired. Optionally, add a drop of vanilla extract for extra depth.
  6. Pour into a chilled jar or tall glass. Top with whipped cream, a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg, and a cinnamon stick if desired.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Chill your chai before blending to prevent melting the ice cream. Adjust spices and sweetness to taste. For a vegan or dairy-free version, use plant-based ice cream and milk, and maple syrup instead of honey. For a thicker shake, add more ice cream or ice cubes; for thinner, add more milk. Serve immediately for best texture.
