A cozy, sweet, and spicy hot toddy made with fresh apple cider, Fireball cinnamon whisky, honey, and lemon. This easy fall drink is perfect for chilly evenings, gatherings, or whenever you need a warm, comforting mug.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh apple cider (8 oz)
  • 1.5 oz Fireball Cinnamon Whisky
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional)
  • 23 whole cloves (optional)
  • Apple slices or lemon wheels, for garnish (optional)
  • Pinch of nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pour 1 cup of fresh apple cider into a small saucepan. Warm over medium-low heat for 3-4 minutes, until steaming but not boiling.
  2. If using, add a cinnamon stick and whole cloves to the cider as it heats. Let them steep for 1-2 minutes.
  3. While the cider warms, add 1 tablespoon honey and 2 teaspoons lemon juice to a sturdy mug. Add a pinch of ground cinnamon or nutmeg if desired.
  4. Pour 1.5 oz Fireball cinnamon whisky into the mug.
  5. Remove the cider from heat. Strain out spices if desired, then pour the hot cider into the mug over the honey, lemon, and whisky.
  6. Stir well with a long spoon or cinnamon stick until the honey dissolves. Taste and adjust lemon or honey as needed.
  7. Garnish with an apple slice, lemon wheel, or a sprinkle of nutmeg. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

Don’t boil the cider—just heat until steaming for best flavor. Use fresh lemon juice for brightness. Stir with a cinnamon stick for extra flavor. Adjust honey and lemon to taste. For a vegan version, use agave or maple syrup instead of honey. Batch for parties by multiplying ingredients and keeping warm in a slow cooker.
