A refreshing summer drink featuring creamy coffee, caramelized banana sweetness, and a hint of vanilla, perfect for sunny afternoons or morning pick-me-ups.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium overripe bananas
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (or coconut oil for dairy-free)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk (whole milk or almond milk for dairy-free)
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: whipped cream, cinnamon, or shaved chocolate for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the butter in a nonstick pan over medium heat. Add the sliced bananas and sprinkle with brown sugar. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring gently, until the bananas are soft and caramelized. Stir in the vanilla extract and cook for another 30 seconds. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. Transfer the caramelized banana mixture to a blender. Add the milk and blend until smooth and creamy. If you prefer a chunkier texture, you can skip this step and simply mash the bananas.
  3. Brew one cup of strong coffee or espresso. Let it cool completely before assembling your drink.
  4. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes. Pour the coffee over the ice, followed by the banana-milk mixture. Stir gently to combine.
  5. Optional: Top your latte with whipped cream, a sprinkle of cinnamon, or shaved chocolate for added flair.

Notes

For the best flavor, caramelize the bananas until golden and fragrant. Use cooled coffee to avoid watering down the drink with ice. Customize sweetness and milk type to suit your preferences.
