classic refreshing moscow mule recipe - featured image

A classic Moscow Mule cocktail served in a copper mug, combining vodka, spicy ginger beer, and fresh lime juice for a crisp, refreshing drink perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ounces vodka (e.g., Titoโ€™s or Absolut)
  • 4 to 6 ounces ginger beer (preferably spicy, naturally brewed like Fever-Tree or Q Ginger Beer)
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice (about half a lime)
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wedge or wheel for garnish
  • Fresh mint sprig (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chill your copper mug in the freezer for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Squeeze about half a lime to get 1/2 ounce of fresh lime juice, avoiding seeds.
  3. Pour 2 ounces of vodka into the chilled copper mug.
  4. Add the fresh lime juice over the vodka.
  5. Fill the mug nearly to the top with ice cubes.
  6. Slowly pour 4 to 6 ounces of ginger beer over the ice, adjusting to taste.
  7. Gently stir with a spoon or stirrer to combine without losing fizz.
  8. Garnish with a lime wedge or wheel and optionally a fresh mint sprig.

Notes

Use fresh lime juice for best flavor; bottled lime juice tastes flat. Pre-chill the copper mug to keep the drink icy cold longer. Stir gently to preserve carbonation. For a lighter drink, reduce vodka and add more ginger beer. For a non-alcoholic version, replace vodka with extra ginger beer or sparkling water.
