Cider Bourbon Cocktail - featured image

A warm, spiced cocktail that combines the deep, caramel notes of bourbon with spiced apple cider, perfect for cozy autumn nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (480 ml) fresh apple cider
  • 4 oz (120 ml) bourbon
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) fresh orange juice
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 1 star anise (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) pure maple syrup
  • Optional garnishes: thin apple slices, a cinnamon stick, or a twist of orange peel

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, add 2 cups (480 ml) of fresh apple cider. Heat on medium-low until itโ€™s warm but not boiling, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add 1 cinnamon stick, 3 whole cloves, and 1 star anise to the cider. Stir gently and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. Stir in 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of pure maple syrup. Taste and adjust sweetness as needed.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in 4 oz (120 ml) of bourbon. For a stronger cocktail, feel free to add an extra splash.
  5. Stir in 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of fresh orange juice for a bright, tangy finish.
  6. Strain the mixture into heatproof mugs or glasses. Garnish with a cinnamon stick, apple slices, or an orange peel twist if desired.
