A warm, comforting vanilla bean steamer with creamy froth that offers a velvety texture and rich vanilla flavor, perfect for cozy mornings or any time you need a sweet pick-me-up.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (480 ml) whole milk or plant-based milk (oat, almond, etc.)
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste or 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons sugar or sweetener (organic cane sugar, maple syrup, or honey)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) heavy cream or coconut cream for vegan option
  • Optional: sprinkle of ground cinnamon or nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Pour 2 cups (480 ml) of your chosen milk into a small saucepan. Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of vanilla bean paste and 1 to 2 tablespoons of sugar or sweetener.
  2. Heat over medium-low heat for about 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar and infuse the vanilla. Do not let it boil; it should be steaming hot.
  3. While the milk warms, pour 1/4 cup (60 ml) of heavy cream into a separate bowl or frothing jug. Use a milk frother or handheld whisk to whip the cream until soft peaks form, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  4. Carefully pour the hot milk mixture into heatproof mugs, leaving room at the top for the froth.
  5. Spoon or gently pour the creamy froth on top to create a luscious, cloud-like cap.
  6. Optionally, sprinkle a pinch of ground cinnamon or nutmeg over the froth.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

Do not overheat the milk to avoid burning or bitterness. Use fresh vanilla bean paste for best flavor and visual appeal. Froth heavy cream, not milk, for richer froth. Warm mugs before serving to keep the drink hotter longer. Whip cream froth fresh before serving as it does not hold well after refrigeration.
