Cranberry Thyme Gin Fizz - featured image

The tangy pop of cranberries paired with the herbal elegance of fresh thyme creates a holiday cocktail that’s festive, fresh, and surprisingly simple to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries (or frozen cranberries)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 45 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 2 oz gin
  • 1 oz cranberry thyme syrup
  • 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
  • 23 oz club soda or sparkling water
  • Ice
  • Optional garnish: sugared cranberries and thyme sprigs

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cranberry thyme syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of fresh cranberries, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, 1/2 cup of water, and 4-5 sprigs of fresh thyme. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens (about 8-10 minutes). Strain through a fine mesh strainer and let cool completely.
  2. Make the cocktail base: In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz gin, 1 oz cranberry thyme syrup, and 1/2 oz fresh lime juice. Fill with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
  3. Pour and top: Strain the mixture into a chilled glass filled with ice. Top with 2-3 oz club soda or sparkling water, depending on your preference. Stir gently.
  4. Garnish: Add a few sugared cranberries and a sprig of fresh thyme for a festive touch.
  5. Serve: Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

[‘Simmer the syrup gently to preserve the flavors of the cranberries and thyme.’, “Ensure the syrup is completely cool before using to maintain the cocktail’s balance.”, ‘Chill your glasses beforehand for an extra frosty experience.’, ‘Customize the fizz by using champagne for a luxurious feel or club soda for a lighter option.’]
