A festive and creamy milkshake featuring red, white, and blue rocket pop popsicles blended with vanilla ice cream and a splash of vodka or rum, perfect for 4th of July celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 rocket pop popsicles (red, white, and blue)
  • 2 cups (475 ml) vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) whole milk
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) vodka or white rum
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) simple syrup (optional)
  • A handful of fresh strawberries or blueberries (optional)
  • Whipped cream (for topping, optional)

Instructions

  1. Remove the rocket pop popsicles from the wrappers and let them sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes to soften slightly. Alternatively, microwave for 10 seconds but do not let them melt completely.
  2. In a blender, combine the vanilla ice cream and whole milk. Blend on medium speed for about 20 seconds until smooth and creamy but still thick.
  3. Break the softened rocket pops into chunks and add them to the blender along with vodka or white rum. Add simple syrup if desired. Pulse gently 3-4 times to swirl colors without fully mixing.
  4. Check the texture: if too thick, add a splash more milk and pulse briefly; if too thin, add more ice cream and blend until desired consistency is reached.
  5. For visual effect, pour a third of the shake into glasses, spoon in some rocket pop chunks, add another third and gently stir to create streaks, then top with the remaining shake.
  6. Top each milkshake with whipped cream and fresh berries. Serve immediately with fun straws or festive picks.

Notes

Do not overblend to preserve the colorful streaks and icy texture. Let popsicles soften before blending to avoid hard chunks. Adjust alcohol amount to taste. For dairy-free version, substitute coconut or almond milk-based ice cream and milk, and use coconut rum.
