A rich and smooth milkshake blending chocolate, peanut butter, and banana for a refreshing and indulgent summer treat. Quick and easy to make with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium ripe bananas, peeled and sliced
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter, unsalted preferred
  • 1 cup (240 ml) whole or 2% milk (or almond milk for dairy-free)
  • 2 cups (about 300 grams) vanilla ice cream
  • 34 chocolate peanut butter cups, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • A handful of ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice 2 ripe bananas into chunks. Chop 3-4 chocolate peanut butter cups into small pieces.
  2. In a blender, combine the sliced bananas and 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter. Blend for about 30 seconds until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add 2 cups vanilla ice cream and 1 cup milk (240 ml). Blend on medium speed for 1-2 minutes until combined and silky smooth. Adjust thickness by adding more milk or ice cream as needed.
  4. Add 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder and 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup if desired. Blend for another 20 seconds.
  5. For a frostier shake, add a handful of ice cubes and pulse the blender 3-4 times without over-blending.
  6. Fold in most of the chopped peanut butter cups with a spoon, reserving some for garnish.
  7. Pour the milkshake into chilled glasses and top with reserved peanut butter cup pieces. Optionally drizzle melted chocolate or sprinkle cocoa powder.

Notes

Use ripe bananas with a few brown spots for best sweetness and creaminess. For a dairy-free version, substitute milk and ice cream with plant-based alternatives and use vegan peanut butter cups. To keep texture, fold in chopped peanut butter cups at the end instead of blending them. Avoid over-blending to prevent runny texture. Frozen bananas can be used for a thicker shake. Store leftovers in the fridge up to 24 hours and reblend before serving.
