A cozy, dairy-free whipped coffee treat made with instant coffee, sugar, and creamy oat milk. Perfect for a quick indulgence with a velvety, frothy top and naturally sweet base.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons hot water (just off boiling)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) chilled oat milk
  • ยผ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon or cocoa powder (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Combine 2 tablespoons instant coffee, 2 tablespoons sugar, and 2 tablespoons hot water in a mixing bowl. The water should be hot but not boiling.
  2. Whip the mixture using an electric hand mixer on medium-high speed for 3-5 minutes until thick, fluffy, and glossy foam forms. If whisking by hand, whisk vigorously for 8-10 minutes until stiff peaks form.
  3. Pour 1 cup chilled oat milk into a serving glass or mug. Stir in ยผ teaspoon vanilla extract if using.
  4. Spoon the whipped coffee foam over the oat milk to create a thick, creamy layer that sits on top.
  5. Sprinkle a pinch of ground cinnamon or cocoa powder on top if desired. Serve immediately and stir before drinking.

Notes

Use instant coffee with a fine grind for best foam. Hot water helps dissolve sugar and coffee for silky foam. Whip until stiff peaks form but avoid overwhipping. Serve immediately for best texture. Leftover foam can be stored in fridge up to 24 hours and rewhipped before use. Cold oat milk contrasts nicely with warm foam; warm oat milk can be used for a hot version.
