A creamy, minty frozen frappe perfect for St. Patrick’s Day, blending vanilla ice cream, whole milk, and peppermint extract into a refreshing, frosty treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (480 ml) vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 34 drops green food coloring (optional)
  • Whipped cream (for topping)
  • Mini chocolate chips or chocolate syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Measure out 2 cups (480 ml) of vanilla ice cream and 1 cup (240 ml) of whole milk. Have your peppermint extract and optional food coloring ready.
  2. Place the ice cream and milk into the blender jar. Blend on medium speed for about 20 seconds to start combining.
  3. Add 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract carefully. Add 3-4 drops of green food coloring if desired.
  4. Increase the speed to high and blend for about 30-45 seconds until frothy and smooth with no large ice chunks.
  5. If too thick, add a splash more milk (about 1 tablespoon / 15 ml at a time) and pulse again. If too thin, add more ice cream or crushed ice and blend briefly.
  6. Pour into chilled glasses immediately. Top with whipped cream and garnish with mini chocolate chips or chocolate syrup if desired.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy with a wide straw.

Notes

Start with small amounts of peppermint extract to avoid overpowering mint flavor. Use whole milk for best creamy texture. Chilling glasses beforehand keeps the frappe colder longer. Let ice cream soften slightly before blending if blender struggles.
