A creamy, satisfying green smoothie made with spinach, banana, and protein powder that even kids love. Ready in 5 minutes, it’s the perfect healthy breakfast for busy mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large ripe banana, preferably frozen
  • 2 big handfuls fresh spinach (about 2 cups packed)
  • 1 scoop vanilla or unflavored protein powder
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter or peanut butter (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds or flax seeds (optional)
  • ยฝ cup plain Greek yogurt (optional for extra creaminess)

Instructions

  1. Prep your banana ahead of time: peel, slice into coins, and freeze for at least 2 hours.
  2. Add your liquid first: pour 1 cup unsweetened almond milk into the blender.
  3. Add the spinach: pack 2 cups fresh spinach into the blender.
  4. Add your protein powder: scoop in 1 scoop vanilla or unflavored protein powder.
  5. Add your frozen banana slices: drop in the frozen banana coins.
  6. Add optional add-ins: almond butter, chia seeds, or Greek yogurt if using.
  7. Blend until smooth: start on low speed and increase to high, blending for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth.
  8. Taste and adjust: add honey or maple syrup for sweetness, more milk for thinner consistency, or more frozen banana for thickness.
  9. Pour and serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, freeze banana in slices rather than chunks. Layer ingredients with liquids first, then soft ingredients, then frozen. Don’t over-blend (45-60 seconds is enough). Use room temperature spinach. Clean blender immediately after use. Can batch prep smoothie packs by portioning spinach, banana slices, and chia seeds into freezer bags.
