A smooth, cool, and subtly sweet iced latte made with oat milk, vanilla syrup, and espresso for a refreshing afternoon boost.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 shots (about 60ml / 2 fl oz) freshly brewed espresso or 1/3 cup (80ml) strong brewed coffee
  • 1 cup (240ml) barista-style oat milk
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) vanilla syrup (store-bought or homemade)
  • Ice cubes (enough to fill a 12 oz / 350ml glass about three-quarters full)
  • Optional: sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg, or a few drops of vanilla extract for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brew 1-2 shots (about 60ml/2 fl oz) of fresh espresso or prepare 1/3 cup (80ml) of strong brewed coffee.
  2. If making homemade vanilla syrup, combine equal parts sugar and water with 1 teaspoon vanilla extract in a saucepan, heat until sugar dissolves, then cool.
  3. Fill a 12 oz (350ml) glass about three-quarters full with large ice cubes.
  4. Pour 2 tablespoons (30ml) vanilla syrup over the ice and stir gently.
  5. Carefully pour the hot espresso over the ice and syrup slowly to create layering.
  6. Froth 1 cup (240ml) oat milk using a frother or shake vigorously in a sealed jar for 30 seconds until creamy.
  7. Pour the frothed oat milk slowly over the espresso to create a creamy top layer with a marbled appearance.
  8. Optionally, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg on top for aroma.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

Use large ice cubes to keep the drink cold longer without dilution. Chill oat milk before frothing if it tastes watery. Pour espresso over ice quickly to avoid cooling too fast. Homemade vanilla syrup reduces sugar and enhances flavor. Store vanilla syrup in the fridge for up to two weeks.
