A comforting and creamy Irish Breakfast Tea Latte sweetened naturally with honey, perfect for cozy mornings or brunch. This easy recipe uses simple ingredients and gentle warming techniques to create a smooth, flavorful drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Irish Breakfast Tea Bags
  • 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk (or 2% or oat milk for lighter/dairy-free option)
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons honey (raw or local preferred)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) freshly boiled water
  • Optional: pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Bring 1 cup (240 ml) of fresh water to a rolling boil using a kettle or saucepan.
  2. Place 1-2 Irish Breakfast tea bags in a heatproof mug. Pour the boiling water over the tea bags and steep for 4-5 minutes.
  3. While the tea steeps, gently warm 1 cup (240 ml) of milk in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent skin and avoid boiling. Heat to about 140ยฐF (60ยฐC).
  4. Remove the tea bags and stir in 1 to 2 teaspoons of honey while the tea is still hot.
  5. Slowly pour the warmed milk into the tea, stirring gently to blend. Optionally whisk lightly to create foam.
  6. Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg on top if desired.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy warm.

Notes

Warm the milk gently without boiling to maintain a silky texture. Steep tea for no longer than 5 minutes to avoid bitterness. Honey should be added while tea is hot for best dissolution. Optional spices like cinnamon or nutmeg add warmth. For dairy-free, use oat milk for creaminess.
