A cozy classic indulgence combining robust medium roast coffee, smooth Irish whiskey, and a silky whipped cream topping for a warm, comforting drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 oz (180 ml) freshly brewed medium roast coffee
  • 1.5 oz (45 ml) Irish whiskey (e.g., Jameson)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brew a fresh 6 oz (180 ml) cup of medium roast coffee and set aside.
  2. Warm your glass mug by pouring hot water into it and letting it sit for a minute, then discard the water.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon brown sugar to the warmed mug. Pour in the hot coffee and stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
  4. Pour 1.5 oz (45 ml) Irish whiskey into the sweetened coffee and stir gently.
  5. In a chilled bowl, whip 1/4 cup (60 ml) heavy cream with a splash of vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  6. Hold a spoon upside down over the coffee and slowly pour the whipped cream over the back of the spoon to float it on top.
  7. Serve immediately and sip the coffee through the cream topping.

Notes

Chill the bowl and whisk before whipping cream to achieve soft peaks. Pour whipped cream slowly over the back of a spoon to keep it floating on top. Warm the glass mug to keep the coffee hot longer. Adjust sugar to taste. For dairy-free, use coconut cream whipped with vanilla extract.
