A comforting and creamy latte combining Earl Grey tea, delicate lavender, and warm vanilla, perfect for cozy mornings or afternoon indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 Earl Grey tea bags
  • 1 teaspoon dried culinary lavender buds (food-grade)
  • 1 cup (8 fl oz) freshly boiled water
  • 1 cup (8 fl oz) milk (whole milk, oat milk, almond milk, or choice)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons sugar or sweetener of choice

Instructions

  1. Bring 1 cup (8 fl oz) of water to a boil. Place 2 Earl Grey tea bags and 1 teaspoon of dried lavender buds into a teapot or heatproof mug. Pour boiling water over them and steep for 5 to 7 minutes, avoiding oversteeping to prevent bitterness.
  2. While the tea steeps, gently heat 1 cup (8 fl oz) of milk in a small saucepan over medium-low heat until warm but not boiling (around 150ยฐF or 65ยฐC). Remove from heat and froth using a milk frother, whisk, or French press until silky and foamy.
  3. Remove the tea bags and strain out lavender buds if desired. Stir in 1 to 2 teaspoons of sugar or preferred sweetener and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract while the tea is still hot.
  4. Pour the frothed milk gently into the tea, holding back the foam with a spoon. Spoon the foam on top for a signature latte look and gently stir to combine flavors.
  5. Optional: Garnish with a pinch of dried lavender buds or a light dusting of ground cinnamon.

Notes

Do not oversteep lavender to avoid bitterness. Use whole milk for creaminess or oat milk for best plant-based frothing. Warm milk gently to avoid burnt taste. Sweeten while tea is hot for best dissolution. For stronger lavender flavor, infuse milk with lavender buds before frothing but use caution to avoid overpowering taste.
