A refreshing and creamy mango lassi with a subtle warm cardamom spice, perfect for hot days and quick to prepare with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium ripe mangoes (about 2 cups / 300g mango chunks), peeled, pitted, and diced
  • 1 cup (240ml) plain yogurt, preferably full-fat
  • ยฝ cup (120ml) milk (whole, almond, or coconut milk)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • ยผ teaspoon ground cardamom
  • ยฝ cup ice cubes (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and pit the mangoes, then chop into chunks (about 2 cups or 300g).
  2. Slightly toast the ground cardamom in a small dry pan over low heat for 30 seconds to a minute, then let it cool (optional).
  3. In a blender, combine the yogurt, milk, and honey or maple syrup. Blend briefly to mix evenly and create a creamy base.
  4. Add the mango chunks and toasted cardamom to the blender. Blend on high speed for 1-2 minutes until smooth and creamy.
  5. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk if too thick or more mango/yogurt if too thin, blending again as needed.
  6. Add ice cubes and pulse briefly if a colder, slushier lassi is desired.
  7. Pour into glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.

Notes

Toast cardamom briefly to enhance aroma. Use ripe mangoes for best sweetness. Adjust sweetness with honey or maple syrup. For dairy-free, substitute yogurt and milk with coconut or almond versions. Avoid over-blending mango to prevent bitterness. Serve chilled and consume within 24 hours. Stir before serving leftovers.
