A quick and easy refreshing summer drink blending ripe mangoes, creamy yogurt, and fragrant cardamom for a smooth, tropical treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ยฝ cups diced ripe mangoes (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup plain yogurt (full-fat or Greek yogurt preferred)
  • ยฝ cup milk (whole or 2%, or dairy-free alternatives like almond or coconut milk)
  • 12 tablespoons honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
  • ยผ teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 46 ice cubes (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. If using fresh mango, peel and dice about 1 ยฝ cups of ripe mango flesh. If frozen, measure the same amount and let it thaw slightly for easier blending.
  2. In a blender, add the diced mango, 1 cup of plain yogurt, ยฝ cup of milk, 1-2 tablespoons of honey or sugar, and ยผ teaspoon of ground cardamom.
  3. Add 4-6 ice cubes if you want a chilled, thicker lassi.
  4. Blend on high for 1-2 minutes until the mixture is silky and lump-free.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or thickness by adding more honey, sugar, or milk as needed and blend again.
  6. Pour into tall glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use frozen mango chunks for a smoothie-like texture and extra chill. For a dairy-free version, substitute yogurt and milk with coconut or almond milk alternatives. Blend longer for frothiness. Avoid over-blending to prevent thinning; add more frozen mango or ice cubes if needed. Freshly ground cardamom pods provide the best aroma. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours and stir before serving.
