  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) honey or maple syrup
  • 1 cup (150 g) frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup (165 g) frozen mango chunks
  • 1 cup (150 g) frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup (30 g) baby spinach
  • 1 medium ripe banana
  • Optional add-ins:
  • ยฝ cup (120 g) cottage cheese (can swap for yogurt in one layer)
  • ยฝ teaspoon (2.5 ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Smoothie Base: In a blender, combine Greek yogurt, milk, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract if using. Blend on high for 30 seconds until smooth and creamy.
  2. Make the Pink Strawberry Layer: Add frozen strawberries and half a banana to 1 cup (240 ml) of the smoothie base. Blend until fully smooth, about 45 seconds. If too thick, add a splash of milk. Pour gently into a glass filling about ยผ of the way. Refrigerate to set.
  3. Prepare the Yellow Mango Layer: Rinse the blender. Add frozen mango, ยฝ banana, lemon juice, and 1 cup (240 ml) of the smoothie base. Blend until silky, about 45 seconds. Pour gently over the pink layer. Chill again.
  4. Create the Purple Blueberry Layer: Clean the blender. Combine frozen blueberries, ยฝ banana, and 1 cup (240 ml) of the smoothie base. Blend until smooth and pour over the yellow layer carefully. Refrigerate briefly.
  5. Make the Soft Green Spinach Layer: Rinse the blender well. Add baby spinach, ยฝ banana, and 1 cup (240 ml) of the smoothie base. Blend until smooth and lightly green. Pour over the purple layer.
  6. Set and Serve: Let the layered smoothie chill for 10-15 minutes to let layers firm slightly. Serve with a colorful straw or small spoon.

Notes

Pour each layer slowly over the back of a spoon to keep colors separate. Chill glasses before layering to help layers stay firm. Rinse blender between layers to avoid color mixing. Use frozen fruit for thick, cold layers. Swap cottage cheese for yogurt in one layer for extra protein. For dairy-free, use coconut or almond yogurt and almond or oat milk.
