This creamy peppermint mocha cold brew is proof that you don’t need a coffee shop to get a coffee shop experience. Five minutes, simple ingredients, and you’ve got a drink that tastes like the holidays in a glass.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cold brew coffee concentrate
  • 1/4 cup whole milk or heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Optional: Whipped cream for topping
  • Optional: Crushed candy cane or chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. Fill your glass with ice. Use large cubes if you have them. Fill the glass almost to the top.
  2. Add the chocolate syrup. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of chocolate syrup over the ice. Don’t stir yet.
  3. Pour in the cold brew concentrate. Slowly pour 1 cup of cold brew over the ice and chocolate syrup.
  4. Add the peppermint extract. Start with 1/4 teaspoon. Stir gently with a spoon to combine everything. Taste and adjust if needed.
  5. Pour in the milk or cream. Slowly add 1/4 cup of whole milk or heavy cream. Pour it over the back of a spoon if you want that layered look.
  6. Stir gently, or don’t. If you stir, you get a uniform creamy peppermint mocha. If you leave it layered, each sip tastes a little different.
  7. Top with whipped cream and garnish. If desired, add a dollop of whipped cream on top and sprinkle crushed candy cane or chocolate shavings over it.
  8. Serve immediately. This drink is best enjoyed fresh.

Notes

Don’t overdo the peppermint extract. Start with 1/4 teaspoon and add more to taste. Chill your glass in the freezer for 10 minutes before making for best results. For an extra creamy texture, shake the cold brew, chocolate syrup, and peppermint extract together in a sealed jar before pouring over ice.
