A refreshing and indulgent cold brew coffee float with creamy vanilla ice cream and homemade salted caramel sauce, perfect for a quick pick-me-up or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cold brew coffee, chilled
  • 2 generous scoops (about ยฝ cup or 120 ml) vanilla ice cream, full-fat recommended
  • 3 tablespoons (45 ml) salted caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • A small pinch of sea salt
  • Optional: whipped cream for topping
  • Optional: chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa powder
  • Optional: ยฝ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Chill your glass in the fridge or freezer for about 10 minutes.
  2. If making homemade salted caramel sauce, melt ยฝ cup (100 g) brown sugar with 3 tablespoons (45 g) butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until bubbly, then slowly whisk in ยฝ cup (120 ml) heavy cream. Remove from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon sea salt. Let cool slightly.
  3. Add two generous scoops (about ยฝ cup or 120 ml) of vanilla ice cream into the chilled glass.
  4. Slowly pour 1 cup (240 ml) of cold brew coffee over the ice cream to create the float effect.
  5. Drizzle 3 tablespoons (45 ml) of salted caramel sauce over the top, letting some drizzle down the sides.
  6. Sprinkle a tiny pinch of sea salt on top.
  7. Add optional toppings such as whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or cocoa powder if desired.
  8. Serve immediately with a straw and spoon.

Notes

Pour cold brew slowly to avoid splashing or displacing the ice cream. Warm caramel sauce slightly if too thick for drizzling. Assemble just before serving to keep ice cream from melting too fast. Use full-fat vanilla ice cream for best creaminess. For dairy-free, use coconut or almond milk cold brew and dairy-free ice cream, substituting butter with coconut oil in caramel sauce.
