A smooth and indulgent cold brew coffee with a creamy salted caramel twist, perfect for summer mornings or any time you want a refreshing caffeinated treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cold brew coffee (homemade or store-bought, medium roast preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons caramel syrup (high-quality, like Torani or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) heavy cream (or substitute half-and-half or full-fat coconut milk for dairy-free)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) milk of choice (whole milk or almond milk recommended)
  • A pinch of sea salt
  • Ice cubes (enough to fill your glass)
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon simple syrup or preferred sweetener

Instructions

  1. Prepare your cold brew: If making from scratch, combine 1 cup (85 g) coarsely ground coffee with 4 cups (960 ml) cold filtered water in a large jar or cold brew maker. Stir gently, cover, and let steep in the fridge for 12โ€“24 hours. Strain through a fine mesh sieve or coffee filter. Alternatively, use 1 cup (240 ml) of high-quality store-bought cold brew.
  2. Mix the creamy caramel base: In a separate small bowl or jar, combine 2 tablespoons (30 ml) caramel syrup, 1/4 cup (60 ml) heavy cream, 1/4 cup (60 ml) milk of choice, and a pinch of sea salt. Optional: add 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract. Whisk or froth until smooth and lightly thickened (about 2โ€“3 minutes).
  3. Assemble the drink: Fill a tall glass with ice cubes (about 1 cup or 240 ml worth). Pour the cold brew coffee over the ice, leaving some space at the top for the creamy caramel mixture.
  4. Finish with the cream mixture: Slowly pour the creamy caramel mix over the cold brew. The layers will swirl together naturally, creating a beautiful marbled effect. Stir gently if you want it fully combined.
  5. Taste and adjust: Give the drink a quick taste. If you prefer it sweeter, add a teaspoon of simple syrup or more caramel syrup and stir.
  6. Serve immediately: Enjoy your creamy salted caramel cold brew right away for the best chilled, fresh flavor.

Notes

Use medium roast coffee for best flavor; avoid overly dark roasts. Frothing the cream mixture enhances texture and blending. Large ice cubes melt slower to keep the drink chilled without dilution. Store cold brew base and cream mixture separately if prepping ahead. For dairy-free, substitute heavy cream and milk with full-fat coconut milk or almond milk. Adjust sweetness carefully to maintain balance with the sea salt.
