A quick and easy homemade iced coffee with a creamy salted caramel cold foam topping, perfect for a refreshing and indulgent treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 shots (about 2 fl oz or 60 ml) freshly brewed espresso or strong coffee
  • 1/2 cup (4 fl oz or 120 ml) cold whole milk (or oat milk for dairy-free option)
  • 2 tablespoons salted caramel sauce
  • Ice cubes
  • Pinch of sea salt flakes (optional)
  • Sweetener of choice (optional, e.g., 1 teaspoon simple syrup or honey)

Instructions

  1. Brew two shots (about 2 fl oz or 60 ml) of espresso or brew a concentrated 1/2 cup (4 fl oz or 120 ml) of strong coffee. Let it cool slightly.
  2. Pour 1/2 cup (4 fl oz or 120 ml) of cold whole milk into a milk frother or a jar with a tight lid. Add 2 tablespoons of salted caramel sauce.
  3. Froth the milk and caramel mixture using a milk frother until it doubles in volume and becomes creamy and thick, or shake vigorously in the jar for 30โ€“60 seconds until foamy.
  4. Fill a tall glass about three-quarters full with ice cubes.
  5. Slowly pour the cooled espresso or coffee over the ice, filling the glass about three-quarters full.
  6. Gently spoon or pour the salted caramel cold foam over the iced coffee, letting it float on top.
  7. Optionally, sprinkle a tiny pinch of sea salt flakes on top to enhance the flavor.
  8. Serve immediately. Stir gently if a uniform flavor is preferred, or sip through the foam for a layered experience.

Notes

Use cold milk for best foam texture. Whole milk creates the richest foam, but oat milk is a good dairy-free alternative. Chill your glass to keep the drink colder longer. Avoid over-shaking milk to prevent separation. Prepare foam fresh for best texture but can be stored up to 24 hours and re-frothed before serving.
