A creamy, festive shamrock shake with a smooth vanilla vodka kick, perfect for St. Patrick’s Day or any celebration. Quick and easy to make with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ounces vanilla vodka
  • 1/2 teaspoon mint extract
  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream (about 400 grams)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk (120 ml)
  • a few drops green food coloring (optional)
  • whipped cream for topping
  • chocolate shavings or sprinkles (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Chill your glassware in the freezer for about 10 minutes.
  2. Scoop 2 cups of vanilla ice cream into a blender, then add 1/2 cup of whole milk.
  3. Add 1/2 teaspoon of mint extract and 2 ounces of vanilla vodka to the blender.
  4. Add a few drops of green food coloring for color, if desired.
  5. Blend on medium-high for about 30 seconds until smooth and creamy. Adjust thickness by adding more milk or ice cream as needed.
  6. Pour the shake into the chilled glasses.
  7. Top with whipped cream.
  8. Garnish with chocolate shavings or sprinkles if desired.

Notes

Use real mint extract for fresh flavor. Slightly soften ice cream before blending for smooth texture. Adjust vodka amount to taste; too much can thin the shake. For dairy-free, substitute coconut milk ice cream and almond milk. Shake can separate after sitting; stir gently before drinking. Do not freeze after adding alcohol.
