A quick and easy refreshing cold brew coffee drink with a smooth, velvety vanilla sweet cream that balances bold coffee flavor with creamy sweetness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cold brew coffee concentrate
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream, cold
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) whole milk, cold
  • 1/2 vanilla bean, split and scraped (or 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (or to taste)
  • Ice cubes (enough to fill the glass)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl or jar, combine 1/2 cup cold heavy cream, 1/2 cup cold whole milk, and 2 tablespoons granulated sugar. Add the scraped seeds from 1/2 vanilla bean pod or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  2. Using a milk frother or whisk, blend the mixture until smooth and slightly thickened, about 1-2 minutes, until it holds soft peaks but remains pourable.
  3. Fill a tall glass with about 1 cup of ice cubes.
  4. Pour 1 cup of cold brew coffee concentrate gently over the ice. Adjust amount to taste if desired.
  5. Slowly pour the vanilla sweet cream over the cold brew to create a marbled effect.
  6. When ready to drink, gently stir the layers together with a spoon or straw.
  7. Enjoy immediately. Store leftover sweet cream in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Notes

Use cold ingredients to maintain chill and texture. Whisk cream and milk mixture until slightly thickened for best mouthfeel. Store sweet cream refrigerated up to 3 days. Avoid stirring cream into hot coffee to prevent curdling. For dairy-free version, substitute heavy cream and milk with coconut or almond milk and use maple syrup or agave instead of sugar.
