A quick and easy homemade iced coffee featuring a silky vanilla sweet cream that balances bold coffee with smooth creaminess for a refreshing and indulgent drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) strong brewed coffee, cooled (cold brew or espresso works great)
  • ยฝ cup (120 ml) heavy cream, chilled
  • ยฝ cup (120 ml) whole milk, chilled (can substitute with almond or oat milk for dairy-free)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup or granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes as needed
  • Optional: pinch of sea salt to enhance vanilla flavor

Instructions

  1. Brew 1 cup (240 ml) of strong coffee using your preferred method and allow to cool completely, ideally refrigerate for 10-15 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl or jar, combine ยฝ cup (120 ml) heavy cream, ยฝ cup (120 ml) whole milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 2 tablespoons simple syrup or sugar. Whisk vigorously or use a handheld frother until the mixture thickens slightly and is smooth, about 30-45 seconds.
  3. Fill a tall glass about three-quarters full with ice cubes.
  4. Slowly pour the cooled coffee over the ice, leaving room at the top for the sweet cream.
  5. Gently pour the vanilla sweet cream over the coffee. Let it float on top for a layered effect or stir it in for a creamy drink.
  6. Optional: Sprinkle a tiny pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for a subtle aromatic touch.
  7. Serve immediately with a straw or spoon.

Notes

Use simple syrup instead of granulated sugar for better sweetness blending. Chill coffee before mixing to avoid diluting the drink. Shake the cream mixture in a jar if no frother is available. Store leftover sweet cream in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and whisk before use.
