Crisp Craft IPA Beer-Garita Cocktail

Crisp Craft IPA Beer-Garita Cocktail - featured image

A refreshing cocktail that blends the bold bitterness of craft IPA with the tangy lime and smooth tequila of a margarita, perfect for warm weather and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 fl oz (355 ml) Craft IPA Beer (crisp, hoppy IPA like Sierra Nevada or Lagunitas)
  • 2 oz (60 ml) Tequila Blanco (100% agave)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Fresh Lime Juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Orange Liqueur (Triple Sec or Cointreau)
  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) Simple Syrup (optional)
  • Salt (for rimming the glass, kosher or sea salt)
  • Lime Wedge (for garnish and rimming)

Instructions

  1. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your glass, then dip the rim into a plate of kosher salt. Set aside.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz tequila blanco, 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice, 1 oz orange liqueur, and 0.5 oz simple syrup if using.
  3. Fill the shaker halfway with ice, cap it, and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
  4. Strain the mixture into your prepared glass filled with fresh ice.
  5. Slowly pour 12 fl oz of craft IPA over the mixed cocktail, pouring gently along the side of the glass to preserve carbonation.
  6. Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim or a thin lime wheel on top and serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh lime juice for best flavor. Pour the IPA slowly to preserve carbonation and avoid foam. Chilling the glass beforehand helps keep the drink crisp longer. Simple syrup is optional depending on sweetness preference. Substitute agave nectar or honey for natural sweetener. Mezcal can replace tequila for a smoky flavor. Use gluten-free beer for gluten-free version.
