A quick and easy recipe for a frothy, creamy coffee drink made with instant coffee, sugar, hot water, and milk. Perfect for a refreshing iced coffee or a cozy warm treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons hot water
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk (whole milk recommended, but almond, oat, or other milk alternatives can be used)
  • Ice cubes (optional)
  • Optional toppings: cocoa powder, cinnamon, or chocolate shavings

Instructions

  1. Combine 2 tablespoons of instant coffee, 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, and 2 tablespoons of hot water in a mixing bowl.
  2. Whisk the mixture using an electric hand mixer on medium-high speed for 3 to 5 minutes until thick, glossy, and fluffy. If hand-whisking, whisk steadily for 8 to 10 minutes until the mixture forms thick peaks.
  3. Pour 1 cup (240 ml) of milk into a serving glass. Add ice cubes if desired for a cold drink, or gently heat the milk for a warm version without boiling.
  4. Spoon the whipped coffee foam carefully over the milk, allowing it to sit on top.
  5. Optionally, garnish with a dusting of cocoa powder, cinnamon, or chocolate shavings. Serve immediately and enjoy by stirring the foam into the milk as you sip.

Notes

Use instant coffee powder only for best froth. Freshly boiled water and room temperature sugar help the foam form better. Avoid over-whisking to prevent grainy texture. Whole milk adds creaminess, but plant-based milks like oat milk work well for dairy-free options. Foam is best enjoyed fresh and can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours but may lose volume.
