A rich and elegant cocktail combining velvety dark chocolate liqueur with medium-bodied red wine, vodka, and cream for a silky, indulgent drink perfect for cozy or celebratory evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz (120 ml) medium-bodied dry red wine (e.g., Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon)
  • 2 oz (60 ml) chocolate liqueur (e.g., Godiva or Baileys Chocolat Luxe)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) vodka (e.g., Grey Goose or Titoโ€™s)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) heavy cream (optional, can substitute with coconut cream for dairy-free)
  • 0.5 oz (15 ml) simple syrup (homemade or store-bought, adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes (plenty for shaking and chilling)
  • Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish

Instructions

  1. Chill your martini glasses in the freezer for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Measure and pour 4 oz red wine, 2 oz chocolate liqueur, 1 oz vodka, 1 oz heavy cream, and 0.5 oz simple syrup into a cocktail shaker.
  3. Add plenty of ice cubes to the shaker.
  4. Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until well mixed and cold.
  5. Strain the cocktail into the chilled martini glass, leaving the ice behind.
  6. Garnish with chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa powder. Optionally, add fresh raspberries or a twist of orange peel.
  7. Serve immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

Use a medium-bodied dry red wine like Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon for best flavor. Shake vigorously to emulsify the cream properly. Adjust sweetness with simple syrup to taste. For dairy-free, substitute heavy cream with coconut cream and use dairy-free chocolate liqueur. Fresh ice cubes and chilled glasses enhance the cocktail experience. Garnish creatively with chocolate shavings, cocoa powder, fresh berries, or orange peel. A splash of soda water can lighten the drink if desired.
