A rich and creamy milkshake combining salty pretzels, buttery salted caramel, and a towering whipped cream crown for a perfect sweet and salty treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups (720 ml) vanilla ice cream (premium brands recommended)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk (can substitute almond or oat milk)
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) salted caramel sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 cup (100 g) mini pretzels, roughly crushed
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cold heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp (15 g) powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional garnishes: extra caramel drizzle, additional crushed pretzels, chocolate shavings or sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Chill mixing bowl and beaters in the fridge for 10 minutes.
  2. Pour cold heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract into the bowl. Beat on medium-high speed until soft peaks form; whip longer for stiff peaks. Set aside in fridge.
  3. Place mini pretzels in a sealed plastic bag and gently crush with a rolling pin or bottom of a glass to get a mix of small chunks and fine crumbs.
  4. In a blender, combine vanilla ice cream, whole milk, vanilla extract, and half of the salted caramel sauce (about 1/4 cup / 60 ml). Blend on high until smooth and creamy, about 30-45 seconds. Adjust thickness by adding milk or ice cream as needed.
  5. Add half of the crushed pretzels into the blender and pulse a couple of times to mix without pulverizing completely.
  6. Drizzle salted caramel sauce along the inside walls of serving glasses.
  7. Pour the blended milkshake into the glasses, leaving room at the top for whipped cream.
  8. Top each shake with the whipped cream tower using a spoon or piping bag.
  9. Sprinkle remaining crushed pretzels on top of the whipped cream and drizzle with extra salted caramel sauce. Optionally add chocolate shavings or a pinch of flaky sea salt.
  10. Serve immediately while whipped cream is fresh and pretzels are crunchy.

Notes

Chill mixing bowl and beaters before whipping cream for better volume. Avoid over-blending pretzels to keep crunch. Use high-quality salted caramel sauce for best flavor. Serve immediately for freshest texture. For dairy-free version, substitute coconut milk ice cream, almond or oat milk, and coconut cream for whipped topping.
