A simple and creamy espresso martini that balances bold coffee flavor with smooth creaminess, perfect for a cozy night in or special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ounces vodka (recommend Tito’s for smooth finish)
  • 1 ounce fresh espresso (hot, freshly brewed)
  • 1 ounce Kahlúa or coffee liqueur
  • 1 ounce heavy cream (lightly whipped or shaken to keep silky and pourable; half-and-half can be used for lighter version)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Ice cubes (for shaking and chilling)

Instructions

  1. Brew 1 ounce (30 ml) of fresh, hot espresso and let it cool slightly for about 2 minutes.
  2. Chill your martini glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water to chill.
  3. Add 2 ounces vodka, 1 ounce coffee liqueur, cooled espresso, and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (if using) into a cocktail shaker.
  4. Fill the shaker halfway with ice cubes.
  5. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to chill and slightly dilute the mixture.
  6. Pour 1 ounce heavy cream into the shaker and gently swirl or shake for 5 seconds to combine without breaking the cream’s silky texture.
  7. Strain the cocktail into the chilled glass using a fine mesh strainer, leaving the ice behind.
  8. Optionally garnish with a few coffee beans or a light dusting of cocoa powder.

Notes

Use fresh espresso for best flavor; avoid instant coffee. Shake cream gently after main shake to avoid curdling. Chill glass beforehand for a professional touch. For dairy-free version, substitute heavy cream with coconut cream. Add cinnamon or nutmeg for a spiced twist. Prepare espresso and alcohol mixture ahead but add cream just before serving.
