easy green beer recipe - featured image

A quick and refreshing homemade green beer cocktail combining light lager, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and green food coloring for a festive and tasty drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz (355 ml) Light Lager or Pilsner Beer
  • 35 drops Green Food Coloring
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Freshly squeezed Lime Juice
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Simple Syrup
  • Ice Cubes (optional)
  • Mint Leaves (optional, for garnish)
  • Green Apple Slices (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Chill your beer glass in the fridge for about 15 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl or measuring cup, combine 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lime juice with 1 teaspoon of simple syrup and stir gently until blended.
  3. Add 3 to 5 drops of green food coloring to the lime-syrup mixture and stir well.
  4. Slowly pour 12 oz of chilled light lager or pilsner beer into the glass, pouring gently down the side to keep bubbles intact.
  5. Add the lime-syrup-color mixture to the beer and gently stir once or twice to blend flavors without losing fizz.
  6. Add ice cubes if desired and garnish with a sprig of mint or a slice of green apple. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use light lager or pilsner for best flavor. Fresh lime juice is essential for brightness. Pour beer gently to keep carbonation. Avoid vigorous stirring to prevent flat beer. Optional garnishes add aroma and visual appeal. For a kid-friendly version, substitute beer with lemon-lime soda.
