A quick and easy southern sweet peach iced tea recipe that uses fresh peaches and natural sweeteners, perfect for summer gatherings without any artificial additives.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 black tea bags (preferably robust, full-bodied brand like Twinings or Lipton)
  • 3 medium fresh ripe peaches, sliced
  • 8 cups (1.9 liters) filtered or spring water
  • 1/4 cup (85 grams) raw honey (or maple syrup for vegan option)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • Optional: cinnamon stick for steeping

Instructions

  1. Boil 8 cups (1.9 liters) of water and pour into a large heatproof pitcher or glass jar.
  2. Add 6 black tea bags to the hot water and steep for 5 to 7 minutes until a rich amber color develops. Remove tea bags gently, squeezing lightly to extract flavor without bitterness.
  3. While the tea is still warm, stir in 1/4 cup (85 grams) of raw honey until completely dissolved. Adjust sweetness to taste.
  4. Add sliced peaches directly into the tea. Lightly muddle a few slices to release extra juice but do not mash completely.
  5. Stir in 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice to brighten and balance flavors.
  6. Let the tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow peach infusion.
  7. Before serving, add plenty of ice cubes to glasses and pour chilled peach iced tea over the ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves or extra peach slices if desired.

Notes

For a clearer tea, strain out peach slices before chilling. Stir honey into warm tea to avoid graininess. Use ripe peaches for best flavor. Consume within 48 hours for optimal freshness. Can substitute black tea with green tea or caffeine-free herbal tea. Frozen peach cubes can be used instead of ice to avoid dilution.
