A classic Whiskey Sour cocktail prepared in a convenient travel pouch, perfect for on-the-go sipping without the need for glassware or mixing on the spot.

  • 1 cup (240 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • ¾ cup (180 ml) simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water dissolved)
  • 1 large egg white (optional)
  • Ice cubes (for serving, not in the pouch)
  • Lemon slices or cherries (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Roll 6-8 fresh lemons on the counter to loosen juice, then juice until you have 1 cup (240 ml) of fresh lemon juice.
  2. Make simple syrup by combining ¾ cup (180 ml) sugar and ¾ cup (180 ml) water in a small saucepan. Heat gently, stirring until sugar dissolves. Cool completely before using.
  3. In a large bowl, combine 2 cups (480 ml) bourbon or rye whiskey, 1 cup (240 ml) fresh lemon juice, and ¾ cup (180 ml) simple syrup. Stir gently to blend.
  4. If using, whisk one large egg white separately until frothy, then fold it into the cocktail mixture.
  5. Using a funnel or pouring pitcher, carefully pour the cocktail mixture into travel-safe pouches. Leave some space to allow shaking if desired. Seal tightly.
  6. Refrigerate the pouches for at least 2 hours before drinking to meld flavors and chill.
  7. When ready, shake the pouch gently (especially if you used egg white), pour over ice or sip straight from the pouch. Garnish with a lemon slice or cherry if desired.

Notes

Use pasteurized egg whites to reduce risk if using raw egg white. For vegan option, substitute egg white with aquafaba. Adjust sweetness by reducing simple syrup or adding more lemon juice. Chill whiskey before mixing for less dilution. Do not overfill pouches to avoid leaks. Store unused pouches in fridge up to 3 days; avoid freezing.
