A refreshing iced coffee drink topped with a silky, lightly sweetened matcha cream, perfect for a quick energizing treat with a unique flavor twist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cold brew coffee
  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder (ceremonial grade recommended)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) heavy cream (or coconut cream for dairy-free)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: 1/4 cup (60 ml) milk or milk alternative
  • Optional: pinch of citrus zest (lemon or orange)

Instructions

  1. Sift 1 teaspoon of matcha powder into a mixing bowl to avoid lumps.
  2. Add 1/4 cup (60 ml) heavy cream, 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  3. Whisk vigorously for 2-3 minutes using a handheld frother or bamboo whisk until the cream thickens slightly and holds soft peaks.
  4. Fill a serving glass about halfway with ice cubes.
  5. Pour 1 cup (240 ml) cold brew coffee over the ice. If desired, add 1/4 cup (60 ml) milk or milk alternative for lighter creaminess.
  6. Spoon the whipped matcha cream gently over the coffee to create a layered effect.
  7. Serve immediately. Stir gently before drinking if you prefer the matcha blended in.

Notes

Sift matcha powder before whisking to avoid clumps. Use a chilled glass to keep the drink cooler longer. If matcha cream is too thick, loosen with a splash of milk. Prepare matcha cream just before serving to maintain fluffiness. Leftover matcha cream can be stored up to 24 hours in the fridge and re-whisked before use.
