A simple, colorful, and refreshing triple-layered frozen margarita perfect for summer parties and patriotic celebrations. Made with just three main ingredients, this drink is quick to prepare and visually striking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries (or mixed berries for extra depth)
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (freshly squeezed if possible)
  • 1 tablespoon simple syrup or agave nectar (optional)
  • 1 cup limeade concentrate (thawed)
  • 1/2 cup silver tequila
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon simple syrup (optional)
  • Optional garnishes: lime wedges, fresh berries, coarse salt for rimming glasses

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Red Layer: In your blender, combine 1 cup frozen strawberries, 2 tablespoons lime juice, and 1 tablespoon simple syrup. Blend until smooth but still thickโ€”about 30 seconds. If too thick, add a splash of water. Pour the red mixture evenly into your glasses about one-third full. Place the glasses in the freezer for 5-7 minutes to firm up slightly.
  2. Make the White Layer: Rinse the blender pitcher to avoid color mixing. Add 1 cup limeade concentrate, 1/2 cup tequila, and 1 cup ice cubes. Blend until smooth and frosty, about 45 seconds. The texture should be thick but pourable. Gently spoon or pour this white layer over the red layer in each glass. Freeze for another 5 minutes to help it set.
  3. Create the Blue Layer: Clean the blender again, then blend 1 cup frozen blueberries, 2 tablespoons lime juice, and 1 tablespoon simple syrup until smooth and thick. Carefully layer the blue mixture on top of the white layer. Pour slowly over the back of a spoon to avoid breaking through the previous layer.
  4. Garnish and Serve: Optionally, rim your glasses with salt or sugar before filling. Add lime wedges or fresh berries on top for a festive touch. Serve immediately with a straw and enjoy.

Notes

For best layering, chill glasses before pouring and freeze each layer until just firm but not rock solid. Pour each layer slowly over the back of a spoon to keep colors distinct. Clean blender between layers to avoid color mixing. Non-alcoholic version can be made by omitting tequila and substituting limeade concentrate with sparkling water or lemon-lime soda. Adjust sweetness by reducing or omitting simple syrup.
