  • 2 cups (480 ml) tomato juice (preferably fresh or low-sodium)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce (like Tabasco)
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery salt (optional)
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • Pinch of kosher salt
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) vodka per serving
  • Ice cubes
  • Celery stalks
  • Pickle spears or baby dill pickles
  • Green olives stuffed with pimentos
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Cooked bacon strips
  • Cooked shrimp (optional)
  • Lemon and lime wedges
  • Pickled green beans or asparagus
  • Cheese cubes (sharp cheddar or pepper jack)
  • Mini sliders or cocktail sausages

Instructions

  1. In a mixing glass or pitcher, combine 2 cups (480 ml) of tomato juice, 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, 1 teaspoon horseradish, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, and 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce. Whisk gently until well incorporated.
  2. Add 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1/4 teaspoon celery salt, a pinch of kosher salt, and freshly cracked black pepper to taste. Whisk again and adjust seasoning if needed.
  3. Chill the mix in the fridge or add ice cubes to cool quickly.
  4. Prepare garnishes: rinse and dry celery stalks and cherry tomatoes, cook bacon strips until crispy, slice lemon and lime wedges, and arrange olives, pickles, cheese cubes, and other garnishes on plates.
  5. Fill a highball glass with ice cubes. Pour in 2 ounces (60 ml) vodka, then top with 4-5 ounces (120-150 ml) of the Bloody Mary mix. Stir gently.
  6. Garnish creatively with skewered olives, cherry tomatoes, cheese cubes, celery stalks, pickle spears, crispy bacon strips, shrimp, or mini sliders.
  7. Give the drink a quick stir before serving. Optionally, rim the glass with celery salt and smoked paprika.

Notes

Adjust hot sauce and horseradish to control spice level. Use fresh lemon juice and freshly cracked black pepper for best flavor. Chill mix before serving. Garnish bar adds fun and customization. Store mix in fridge up to 2 days. Rim glass with celery salt and smoked paprika for extra flavor.
