A refreshing and spicy frozen cocktail popsicle that combines citrus, sweetness, and a fiery kick, perfect for summer gatherings and fun evenings.

  • 1 cup (240 ml) fresh lime juice (about 6–8 limes)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) agave syrup or simple syrup (adjust sweetness to taste)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) tequila blanco or vodka
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) orange juice, fresh if possible
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1 small jalapeño, thinly sliced (optional)
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish or blending in)

Instructions

  1. Juice the limes using a juicer until you have 1 cup (240 ml) of fresh lime juice. Strain if you want a smoother finish. This takes about 5 minutes.
  2. In a blender or large bowl, combine lime juice, agave syrup, orange juice, tequila or vodka, and a pinch of sea salt. Whisk or blend until sugar is fully dissolved and mixture is smooth. Adjust sweetness or lime to taste.
  3. Stir in chili flakes and jalapeño slices (if using). Let the mixture sit for 5-10 minutes to infuse heat. For milder spice, strain out jalapeños before freezing.
  4. Pour mixture carefully into popsicle molds, leaving space at the top for expansion. Insert sticks and place molds on a flat surface in the freezer.
  5. Freeze for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight for best texture and flavor melding.
  6. To unmold, run warm water briefly over the molds’ exterior or let sit at room temperature for a minute. Serve immediately.

Notes

Start with less chili flakes if sensitive to spice; alcohol slows freezing so allow extra freezer time if adding more alcohol or liqueur. For smoother texture, strain mixture before freezing. Adding triple sec can soften texture but requires longer freezing. Fresh lime juice is recommended for best flavor. Non-alcoholic versions can use sparkling water or citrus soda.
