A refreshing mango margarita with a spicy Tajín chile rim that balances sweet, sour, and spicy flavors for a perfect party drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large ripe mango, peeled and cubed
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) tequila blanco (100% agave)
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) fresh lime juice (about one medium lime)
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) orange liqueur (triple sec or Cointreau)
  • 1 teaspoon agave syrup (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Tajín seasoning
  • Pinch of salt (for rim)
  • Ice cubes (for shaking and serving)
  • Lime wedges or mango slices (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glass by pouring fresh lime juice into a shallow dish. Mix Tajín seasoning with a pinch of salt on another plate.
  2. Rub the rim of the margarita glass with a lime wedge, then dip it into the Tajín-salt mixture to coat evenly. Set aside.
  3. In a blender, combine the peeled and cubed mango with 1/2 cup (120 ml) of ice cubes. Blend until smooth and creamy, about 30 seconds. Add a splash of water or lime juice if too thick.
  4. In a cocktail shaker, add tequila, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur, agave syrup (if using), and the mango puree. Fill the shaker with ice cubes.
  5. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled and slightly frothy.
  6. Strain the margarita into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
  7. Garnish with a lime wedge or thin mango slice on the rim.
  8. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

Use ripe mangoes for natural sweetness. Fresh lime juice is essential for brightness. Chill glasses beforehand for best experience. Adjust sweetness with agave syrup as needed. For extra heat, add cayenne to the Tajín rim. Frozen mango can be used but skip ice cubes when blending. Store leftover margarita in fridge up to 24 hours and shake before serving.
