A vibrant and refreshing mango margarita with a spicy Tajin rim, perfect for parties and easy to make in under 10 minutes. This cocktail balances sweet mango, tangy lime, and a kick of chili-lime seasoning for a memorable drink experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large ripe fresh mango, peeled and chopped
  • 2 ounces (60 ml) blanco or reposado tequila
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) fresh lime juice (about 1 large lime)
  • 1 ounce (30 ml) orange liqueur (Cointreau or Triple Sec)
  • 1/2 ounce (15 ml) agave syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes (about 1 cup or 150 grams)
  • Tajin seasoning for rimming the glass
  • Coarse salt mixed with Tajin for rimming (optional)
  • Lime wedge for dipping the rim
  • Optional: fresh chili slice or chili powder for extra heat

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glass: Pour Tajin seasoning onto a small plate. Optionally mix in a pinch of coarse salt. Rub the rim of the glass with a lime wedge, then dip the rim into the Tajin mixture to coat evenly. Set aside to dry slightly.
  2. Blend the mango: In a blender, combine chopped mango, tequila, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur, agave syrup, and ice cubes. Blend until smooth and creamy, about 30-45 seconds. Add fresh chili slice or chili powder if desired for extra heat.
  3. Taste and adjust: Taste the margarita and add more agave syrup if too tart, or add a little water or more ice if too thick. Pulse again to mix.
  4. Serve: Pour the blended margarita into the prepared glasses. Garnish with a lime wheel or small mango slice on the rim.
  5. Enjoy immediately: Best served fresh and cold with the Tajin rim enhancing every sip.

Notes

Use ripe mangoes for natural sweetness and best flavor. Fresh lime juice is essential for brightness. Chill glasses before serving to keep the drink icy longer. Adjust spice level by adding or omitting chili inside the drink and controlling Tajin on the rim. For a chunkier texture, muddle mango pieces instead of blending. Frozen mango can be used for a slushy texture. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge up to 24 hours but may separate; shake before serving.
