A refreshing and vibrant margarita featuring fresh watermelon, a spicy kick from jalapeño, and a tangy Tajín rim that balances sweet, spicy, and salty flavors perfectly.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups fresh watermelon, cubed and seedless
  • 2 ounces tequila blanco (100% agave recommended)
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice (about 1 lime)
  • ½ ounce agave syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 23 thin slices fresh jalapeño (seeds removed for milder heat)
  • Tajín seasoning for rimming the glass
  • Ice cubes (preferably large)
  • Optional garnishes: lime wedge, watermelon slice, jalapeño slice

Instructions

  1. Moisten the rim of your glass with a lime wedge.
  2. Pour Tajín seasoning onto a small plate and dip the glass rim into the seasoning to coat evenly. Set aside.
  3. Place watermelon cubes into a blender and blend until smooth, about 30 seconds.
  4. Add jalapeño slices to the blender and blend for another 10 seconds to infuse spice.
  5. Pour the watermelon-jalapeño mixture into a shaker or large glass.
  6. Add tequila blanco, fresh lime juice, and agave syrup.
  7. Fill the shaker with ice cubes and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.
  8. Strain the mixture into the Tajín-rimmed glass filled with fresh ice.
  9. Garnish with a lime wedge, watermelon slice, or jalapeño slice as desired.

Notes

Chill glasses beforehand for extra refreshment. Adjust jalapeño slices to control heat. Fresh lime juice is essential for brightness. Avoid shaking too long to prevent dilution. For batch preparation, mix watermelon base ahead and add alcohol just before serving.
