A refreshing and easy-to-make hydration drink combining crisp cucumber and zesty lime with a touch of sweetness, perfect for hot summer days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium fresh cucumbers, peeled and roughly chopped (about 3 cups / 10.5 oz)
  • 3 large fresh limes, juiced (about 1/4 cup lime juice)
  • 4 cups (1 liter) pure water, filtered recommended
  • 1/4 cup (50 grams) granulated sugar (can substitute honey, agave, or coconut sugar)
  • A handful of fresh mint leaves (optional)
  • Ice cubes for serving

Instructions

  1. Peel 2 medium cucumbers and roughly chop into chunks (about 3 cups / 10.5 oz).
  2. Add chopped cucumber and 4 cups (1 liter) pure water to a blender. Blend on high for 1-2 minutes until smooth and frothy.
  3. Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a large pitcher, pressing the pulp to extract juice. Skip if you prefer pulp.
  4. Stir in juice of 3 large limes and 1/4 cup (50 grams) granulated sugar until sugar dissolves. Adjust sweetness or lime juice to taste.
  5. Optionally, tear a handful of fresh mint leaves and add to the pitcher. Let steep for 10 minutes, then remove or leave in for stronger flavor.
  6. Add ice cubes to the pitcher or individual glasses. Stir and garnish with lime wheel or cucumber slice before serving.

Notes

If the drink tastes flat, add a pinch of salt to enhance flavors. Avoid overblending to prevent bitterness. Use cold water and ice to keep it crisp. Mint is optional but recommended for a bright herbal note. Can substitute sugar with honey, agave, or coconut sugar for different sweetness profiles. For a spicy twist, add jalapeรฑo slices or cayenne pepper.
