A refreshing and hydrating spa water infused with cucumber, mint, and lemon, perfect for spring and easy to prepare in under 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium cucumber, thinly sliced (English cucumber preferred)
  • 1015 fresh mint leaves, gently bruised
  • 1 medium lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 quart (950 ml) filtered water (still or sparkling)
  • Ice cubes (optional)
  • Optional add-ins: a few thin slices of fresh ginger, splash of fresh lime juice
  • Optional sweetener: drizzle of honey or agave syrup

Instructions

  1. Wash and rinse cucumber, lemon, and mint leaves under cold water.
  2. Thinly slice cucumber and lemon into about 1/8-inch thickness.
  3. Gently bruise mint leaves by pressing between fingers or with a muddler to release oils.
  4. Add cucumber slices to a large pitcher, followed by lemon slices and mint leaves. Add optional ginger or lime juice if using.
  5. Pour 1 quart (950 ml) of filtered water over the ingredients.
  6. Stir gently with a spoon or tongs to combine flavors.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, ideally 2-3 hours, to infuse flavors.
  8. Serve chilled over ice cubes, garnished with a mint sprig or cucumber slice.
  9. Refill the pitcher with water once or twice using the same ingredients before discarding.

Notes

Use cold, filtered water for best taste. Do not over-muddle mint to avoid bitterness. Slice cucumber and lemon thinly and evenly. Infuse longer for stronger flavor but avoid over 24 hours to prevent bitterness. Serve chilled and add ice just before serving to avoid dilution. Sparkling water can be used for a fizzy twist.
