A quick and easy natural energy boost made with fresh ginger, lemon juice, raw honey, and water. This detox shot is perfect for mornings or anytime you need a refreshing pick-me-up without caffeine.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 inch fresh ginger root, peeled and finely grated or juiced
  • 1 medium lemon, juiced (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 1 teaspoon raw honey, or to taste
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons filtered water
  • Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper for extra metabolism boost

Instructions

  1. Peel about 1 inch of fresh ginger root using the edge of a spoon, then finely grate it using a microplane or fine grater. For a pulp-free shot, press grated ginger in a fine mesh strainer to extract about 1 tablespoon of ginger juice.
  2. Cut 1 medium lemon in half and juice it using a citrus juicer or by hand, aiming for about 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice. Remove any seeds.
  3. In a small glass or bowl, combine the ginger juice, lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon of raw honey. Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of filtered water to dilute and balance the intensity.
  4. Stir well with a spoon or small whisk until the honey dissolves completely. If desired, add a pinch of cayenne pepper and stir again.
  5. Serve immediately for best flavor and nutrient punch. Optionally, chill briefly or add ice cubes for a cooler shot.

Notes

Use fresh ginger and lemons for best flavor and health benefits. Adjust honey and water to balance sweetness and acidity. Drink immediately for best taste and nutrient retention. Can add cayenne pepper for extra metabolism boost. Store in fridge up to 2 days but flavor may intensify and become bitter.
