A quick and easy green smoothie combining fresh baby spinach and ripe mango for a refreshing, nourishing detox drink perfect for busy mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 packed cups fresh baby spinach
  • 1 cup ripe mango chunks (frozen or fresh)
  • 1 small ripe banana
  • 1 cup (240 ml) unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger (optional)
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes (optional)
  • Honey or maple syrup to taste (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the baby spinach thoroughly to remove any grit. Peel and slice the banana, and if using fresh mango, peel and dice it into chunks (about 1 cup).
  2. In your blender, place the spinach and pour in 1 cup (240 ml) of unsweetened almond milk. Blend on medium speed for about 30 seconds to fully liquefy the greens.
  3. Add the mango chunks, banana slices, 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice, and grated fresh ginger if using. Add chia seeds now if desired.
  4. Increase blender speed to high and blend for 45-60 seconds until the smoothie is velvety smooth with no visible chunks.
  5. If the smoothie is too thick, add a splash more almond milk and pulse a few times. For a colder drink, add 1/2 cup ice cubes and blend briefly.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding a teaspoon of honey or maple syrup if desired, then blend again for a few seconds.
  7. Pour into your favorite glass and serve immediately.

Notes

Add liquid first when blending greens to avoid fibrous bits. Use frozen mango for chill and texture. Adjust sweetness and acidity to taste. Can substitute banana with avocado for lower sugar. Store in airtight container up to 24 hours and stir before drinking.
