A refreshing and easy-to-make iced tea featuring robust black tea and fresh peach slices, perfect for warm weather and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 black tea bags (preferably Twinings English Breakfast)
  • 2 large fresh ripe peaches, sliced
  • 4 cups (1 liter) water for brewing
  • 4 cups (1 liter) cold water for diluting and chilling
  • 23 tablespoons granulated sugar or honey (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (about half a lemon)
  • Ice cubes as needed
  • Optional: a few sprigs of mint leaves for garnish
  • Optional: peach schnapps or vodka for a boozy twist

Instructions

  1. Bring 4 cups (1 liter) of water to a rolling boil (approx. 5 minutes).
  2. Place 4 black tea bags into the hot water and steep for 5-7 minutes depending on desired strength.
  3. Remove tea bags, squeezing gently to extract flavor. While warm, stir in 2-3 tablespoons sugar or honey until dissolved.
  4. Wash and slice peaches into thin wedges or bite-sized slices while tea steeps.
  5. Pour brewed tea into a large pitcher. Add 4 cups (1 liter) cold water to dilute and cool the tea.
  6. Stir in 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice and add peach slices, gently stirring to distribute.
  7. Refrigerate the pitcher for at least 1 hour to chill and let flavors meld.
  8. Serve over ice cubes, garnished with fresh mint leaves if desired. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

To prevent peach slices from browning, squeeze a little lemon juice on them before adding to the tea. Avoid over-steeping tea to prevent bitterness. Chill for at least 1 hour for best flavor. Use ripe but firm peaches for best texture. Leftover tea keeps up to 3 days refrigerated; add fresh peach slices before serving to maintain texture.
