A quick and easy green smoothie combining ripe mango, baby spinach, and ground flaxseed for a nutritious and delicious tropical boost.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh mango, peeled and chopped (about 165 grams)
  • 1 cup fresh baby spinach (about 30 grams)
  • 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed (about 7 grams)
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (240 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice (15 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional, about 5 ml)
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes (about 120 ml)

Instructions

  1. Peel the mango and chop into roughly 1-inch cubes, measuring about 1 cup (165 grams).
  2. Rinse 1 cup (30 grams) of baby spinach thoroughly and pat dry.
  3. Measure 1 tablespoon (7 grams) of ground flaxseed, 1 cup (240 ml) of unsweetened almond milk, 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of fresh lime juice, and optional 1 teaspoon (5 ml) honey or maple syrup. Have ยฝ cup (120 ml) ice cubes ready.
  4. Add the almond milk, spinach, and flaxseed to your blender. Blend on high for about 30 seconds until smooth and bright green.
  5. Add the chopped mango and fresh lime juice. Blend again for 45-60 seconds until silky smooth.
  6. Taste the smoothie and add honey or maple syrup if more sweetness is desired. Add ice cubes and pulse for 15-20 seconds to chill.
  7. Pour into a glass or reusable cup. If too thick, add a splash more almond milk and stir gently.

Notes

Use fresh mango for best flavor; frozen mango can be used for a thicker, colder smoothie but reduce ice to avoid dilution. Ground flaxseed blends better than whole flaxseed. Blend spinach with liquid first to avoid leafy chunks. Add honey or maple syrup if mango is not ripe enough. Store leftovers in a sealed container in the fridge up to 24 hours and shake before drinking.
