A refreshing and easy-to-make virgin mojito mocktail featuring fresh lime, mint leaves, sugar, and sparkling water. Perfect for cooling down on hot summer days with a zesty, bubbly, and minty flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1012 fresh mint leaves
  • 2 medium-sized fresh limes (juice and wedges for garnish)
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar (raw or turbinado preferred)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) sparkling water
  • Crushed ice
  • Optional: splash of club soda or lemon-lime soda for extra fizz and sweetness

Instructions

  1. Rinse the mint leaves gently under cold water and pat dry. Cut the limes in half and set aside a lime wedge for garnish.
  2. Place the mint leaves and granulated sugar into your glass. Using a muddler or spoon handle, press gently to bruise the leaves and mix with sugar without tearing them.
  3. Squeeze the juice of 1 to 1ยฝ limes (about 2 tablespoons / 30 ml) into the glass. Stir gently to dissolve the sugar and infuse the lime-mint mixture.
  4. Fill the glass with crushed ice to the top.
  5. Slowly add 1 cup (240 ml) of sparkling water over the ice, allowing bubbles to rise gently without overflowing.
  6. Stir the drink lightly to combine flavors. Garnish with the reserved lime wedge and a sprig of mint.

Notes

Do not over-muddle the mint to avoid bitterness. Use fresh ingredients for best flavor. Crushed ice chills and dilutes perfectly. Prepare mint, lime juice, and sugar mixture up to 2 hours ahead and add ice and sparkling water just before serving to keep fizz fresh. Optional additions include a splash of club soda, lemon-lime soda, or freshly squeezed orange juice for a twist.
