Ingredients

  • 4 large lemons, juiced (about ยฝ cup or 120ml fresh lemon juice)
  • 2 cups (480ml) cold water
  • ยผ cup (50g) granulated sugar or honey, to taste
  • Ice cubes, as needed
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional), for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the watermelon by cutting into chunks, about 4 cups (600g). Remove any seeds if needed.
  2. Place the watermelon chunks into a blender and pulse until smooth, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Juice 4 large lemons, removing seeds, to yield about ยฝ cup (120ml) fresh lemon juice.
  4. Pour the watermelon puree into a large pitcher. Add lemon juice, 2 cups (480ml) cold water, and ยผ cup (50g) sugar or honey. Stir well until sugar dissolves completely.
  5. Add ice cubes to the pitcher or glasses. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired. Serve immediately or refrigerate up to 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Use ripe, juicy watermelon and freshly squeezed lemon juice for best flavor. Avoid over-blending watermelon to prevent watery texture. Adjust sweetness to taste. For a fizzy version, replace half or all cold water with sparkling water. Strain watermelon puree for pulp-free lemonade if desired. Refrigerate leftovers up to 2 days and stir before serving.
