A light, cool, and refreshing 3-ingredient drink combining fresh watermelon, mint, and water, perfect for hot summer days and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (600 grams) cubed seedless watermelon
  • 10 to 12 fresh mint leaves, washed and gently bruised
  • 2 cups (480 ml) cold filtered water
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon organic cane sugar or honey (if watermelon isnโ€™t sweet enough)

Instructions

  1. Cut about 4 cups (600 g) of seedless watermelon into chunks, removing the rind.
  2. Place 10-12 fresh mint leaves in the blender and gently bruise them with a wooden spoon or muddler to release oils.
  3. Add the watermelon chunks and 2 cups (480 ml) of cold filtered water to the blender. Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth and vibrant pink.
  4. Optional: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or sieve into a pitcher to remove pulp if desired.
  5. Taste and stir in a teaspoon of organic cane sugar or honey if additional sweetness is needed.
  6. Pour the agua fresca into glasses filled with ice cubes. Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint or a small wedge of watermelon and serve immediately.

Notes

Use ripe watermelon for best sweetness. Gently bruise mint leaves to avoid bitterness. Straining is optional depending on pulp preference. Chill for 30 minutes for enhanced flavor or serve immediately over ice. Frozen watermelon can be used for a slushy texture. Avoid over-blending to keep mint fresh-tasting.
